On February 16, Ukraine and Russia conducted another exchange of prisoners of war, as a result of which 101 Ukrainians returned home. Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced this on Telegram.
“We continue to return Ukrainians from captivity. Today, 100 of our soldiers and one civilian are going home.
Among the released fighters are the National Guardsmen, border guards and the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 94 of them are the defenders of Mariupol, including 63 soldiers from Azovstal. Their relatives have been waiting for them for so long,” he wrote.
According to Yermak, many of those who returned from captivity have wounds of varying severity. The head of the OP thanked the team that deals with the exchanges and the Coordinating Headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war and stressed: “We will return everyone home.”
