At the end of 2022, Tajikistan again ranked first in the CIS in terms of industrial growth. Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan Sherali Kabir announced this today at a press conference.
According to him, the volume of industrial production amounted to 43 billion somoni, which is 15.4% more than in the previous year.
Based on the data of the CIS Statistical Committee, Sherali Kabir said that this is the highest result among the Commonwealth countries.
In the total volume of industrial products, the mining industry still has the highest share – 29.1%, but it decreased by 3% compared to the previous year.
Great growth was observed in the food industry of Tajikistan: its share in the total volume of industrial products reached 25% and displaced electricity to third place (15.9%) compared to the previous reporting period.
New ventures
In 2022, a total of 505 new enterprises and workshops for 5,475 jobs were created in Tajikistan.
Including 160 enterprises in the food industry, 121 in the light industry.
116 enterprises appeared in the construction sector, and 99 enterprises appeared in the machine-building sector.
ores
The mining industry of Tajikistan has increased the volume of production to 0.5% compared to last year.
Among the enterprises of the industry that increased production, the minister named the companies TBEA Dushanbe Sanoati Kukhi, Aprelevka, Tilloi Tojik, Dastras-2011 and Naziri.
Over the past year, enterprises of the Talco Gold company were put into operation on the basis of the Kanchoch, Skalnoe and Chulboy gold and antimony deposits; “Duobai Sharki”.
Despite the above achievements, Zarafshan JSC, Pakrut LLC and Zarink LLC allowed a decrease in gold production.
LLC “Mining and Industrial Company of Tajikistan and China” has reduced the production of enriched zinc and copper, and LLC “KM Anzob” – antimony.
Also, the Mining and Industrial Company of Tajikistan and China LLC uses only 2.8% of the design capacity of the metallurgical plant for the production of lead, launched in 2017.
Coal
In 2022, coal production from 11 deposits in Tajikistan amounted to about 2.4 million tons. 14 companies are involved in coal production.
During this period, taking into account the remains of previous years, more than 2.6 million tons of coal were sold.
Among the major buyers are CHPP-2 of the city of Dushanbe (962.3 thousand tons), industrial enterprises of the republic (752 thousand tons), the population and entrepreneurs (576 thousand tons).
In 2022, Tajikistan exported 371.4 thousand tons of coal worth $9.3 million. Afghanistan was the main buyer – 225.2 thousand tons. Tajik coal was also sent to Pakistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
fertilizers
A plant for the production of phosphorus fertilizers of TALCO Chemical LLC started operating in Yavan. The cost of this enterprise is estimated at $5.5 million and employs 50 people.
The first line of the plant is designed to produce 75 thousand tons of phosphate fertilizers per year.
Over time, the second stage will be introduced and the production of phosphate fertilizers will double and it will be possible to send part of it for export.
The Asia-Chemical company has completed preparations for the launch of the first stage of a nitrogen fertilizer plant, gas supplies from Uzbekistan are expected.
The first line of the enterprise will produce 90 thousand tons of products.
Cement
Cement production reached 4.3 million tons, which is 72.5 thousand tons or 1.7% more than in 2021.
Export of cement amounted to 1.3 million tons, which is 205.7 thousand tons more than in the previous reporting period.
Uzbekistan (965 thousand tons) and Afghanistan (more than 412 thousand tons) became the main buyers of Tajik cement.
The proceeds amounted to 480.5 million somoni (more than $46 million).
food industry
The growth in the production of food industry products became possible due to an increase in the production of feed for livestock and poultry by 3 times, soft drinks by 37.3%, table salt by 7%, meat products by 6.9%, dairy products by 5.4%, pasta by 5.1% and others.
Food exports abroad amounted to $43.1 million, which is $15.6 million or 56.7% more than in 2021.
The main export items were dried fruits (51.8 thousand tons), soft drinks (15.8 thousand tons), flour (6.2 thousand tons), canned fruits and vegetables (3 thousand tons) and others.
