The President of Ukraine visited medical institutions on the occasion of the day of the medical worker, as well as the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral

MOSCOW, 27 July. /TASS/. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is making a working trip to the south of Ukraine, in particular, he visited Odessa. This was announced by the office of the head of state.

Zelensky traveled to Mykolaiv and Odesa regions on Thursday, according to the office’s website. He visited medical institutions in Nikolaev, Odessa and Ochakov on the occasion of the day of the medical worker, which is celebrated for the first time in Ukraine on July 27. Previously, this day fell in the country, as in Russia, on the third Sunday of June. However, on June 13, three days before the holiday, the president issued a decree to postpone it to July 27.

In addition, Zelensky visited the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa. The president was told about the state of the temple and plans for its restoration, the office of the head of state added. The Ukrainian media also published a video, the footage of which shows armed guards at the cathedral and Zelensky leaving it.

On the night of July 23, the armed forces of the Russian Federation attacked objects in the Odessa region, where terrorist acts against Russia were being prepared using unmanned boats. All targets planned to strike were destroyed. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clarified that Kyiv’s information about the defeat of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa as a result of a strike with precision weapons is not true. The most likely reason for its destruction was the fall of a missile of the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to the illiterate actions of air defense units, the Russian military department said.
