The United States is accelerating the supply of Abrams tanks to Ukraine. Politico writes about it.

They will arrive in September, sources familiar with the matter told the newspaper. Previously, the deadlines were more vague (it was stated that the tanks were expected in the autumn).

First, the cars will be delivered to Germany, where they will be repaired, then they will go to the battlefield.

We are talking about the old model M1A1. It would take a year to deliver a more modern A2 model, the newspaper writes.

Acceleration is associated with an increase in the intensity of battles.

The initial batch will consist of six to eight tanks, said an industry official and congressional aide. In total, the US plans to send 31 tanks, which corresponds to the Ukrainian battalion.
