Russian military hackers massively attacked the mobile devices of Ukrainian army soldiers in order to steal confidential information that could help Moscow in a special military operation (SVO), CNN reports , citing its sources.
As the publication clarified, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were warned by their allies about possible hacker attacks. Journalists citing the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) indicated that the Russian military had successfully infiltrated Android tablets.
“The malicious code of Russian hackers was developed to steal data sent from soldiers’ mobile devices to the Starlink satellite system,” the SBU emphasized. Ukrainian experts clarified that they blocked some hacking attempts, and also admitted that the Russians captured and installed their software on the fighters’ mobile devices.
Earlier, a representative of the Russian hacker group RaHDIt, on condition of anonymity , reported that Ukrainian hackers from the Beregini group had established channels through which data about the operational situation at the front was received.
